BABAM VE OĞLUM

Babam ve Oğlum is a 2005 drama film directed and written by Çağan Irmak and starring Çetin Tekindor and Fikret Kuşan. The film, which also stars Humeyra, Tuba Büyüküstün, Şerif Sezer, Yetkin Dikinciler and Binnur Kaya, tells the story of Sadık, who leaves a farm in the Mediterranean to study journalism and returns years later with his son.

Sadık (Fikret Kuşan) leaves their Aegean farm to study journalism, but his father Hüseyin (Çetin Tekindor) wants him to study agricultural engineering and manage the farm. Sadık is interested in politics and policy when he goes to university. But his father does not want this and disowns his son. Sadık gets involved in many political events. Early on the morning of September 12, Sadık's wife goes into labor. Since there was a military coup in the country, they could not find a car to go to the hospital. Sadık's wife dies during childbirth, but their child Deniz survives. After being tortured in prison, Sadık's health seriously deteriorates and he becomes terminally ill. He decides to take his child to his family's farm in the Aegean. The movie actually begins here.

My Father and My Son is one of the best drama films of Turkish cinema with a painful story that will make even those who say they don't cry shed tears. We highly recommend it.
